by Piet Mondrian :

Our word description of our abstract drawing:

Size of paper: 13 inches (length) and 6 and a half inches (width).

Color: Light yellow, black, and blue.

Painting: Go in from the top of the paper to the right 2 cm. and draw a black, bold line from the top to the bottom. From the first black, bold line, go in 7 cm. to the right and make another black, bold line from the top to the bottom. Then, from the bottom of the second black, bold line, go up 7 cm. and make a black, bold line horizontally to the right to the very end of the paper. From the top, go 3 cm. down and make a black, bold line to the edge of the paper on the second bold line to the right. On the right, on the top, there is a little rectangle. Color it blue. Color the rest of the paper light yellow.

 Reflections on our progress:

Dear Ben and Clayton,

What you got right were the two black, bold lines from the top to the bottom, and the colors.

You didn't quite get the blue rectangle right. It's supposed to be in the other rectangle in the top right corner, not in the top left corner. The lines were not supposed to go all the way to the left. It was to stop at the closest line to the right. You did a great job over all!
