Vertical Composition with Blue and White

by Piet Mondrian :

Our word description of our abstract drawing:

For all the lines, use a black marker. All the lines are very bold. For the rest, use colored pencils.

Size Paper: 13 and a half inches in height and 6 and a half inches in width.

An inch from the left hand side edge of the paper, there is a black, vertical line going from top to bottom. On the right of the line that you just drew, there is a line that is three inches away, parallel to the first line.
Three inches from the bottom of the second line, there is a horizontal line to the edge of the paper.

One and one quarter inches from the top, there is another horizontal line going the edge of the rectangle. From that line to the top of the rectangle it is all colored darkish blue.

 Reflections on our progress:

Dear Tiffany and Crasean,

You did a very, very good job. All the lines are in the right places. All the rectangles are the right size.

We might have mis-written the size of one of the rectangles. We think you might have misread the part that told which rectangle to color blue. You colored the wrong rectangle. Otherwise, you did great.
