Homework will be sent home
on Mondays as a Homework Packet and should be completed by Thursday
morning. Please help your child correct mistakes before
handing in the packet on Thursday.
Spelling lists are sent
home each Monday or the first day of the week (unless the week
is short). These lists are to be mastered at home by the
date of the test.
Every child should read
at least 20 minutes each night. The Home Reading Record
Book will be sent home with the homework folder on Monday.
Please assist your child in keeping up with their record book.
The Home Reading Record Book is due every Monday with the Friday
folder. By the end of the year, your child will have a record
of all the books read at home in second grade, as well as a well-developed
reading habit.
Students are expected to master addition and subtraction facts 2-20 by June. Daily practice at home is helpful until mastery is met. Math drills will be given weekly in class.
