 My Self Portrait

Anna's re-creation of my self portrait

My description of my self portrait:

Note: This works better using crayons!

I'm a girl. My head is oval-shaped. My skin color is pale peach. Don't color my skin hard, color it softly.

My nose is a little more down that in the center of my face. My nose is short and not pointy. It goes down and then bridges; it sort of rounds off (somebody in your class probably has a nose like it).

My lips are not thick or thin. They're in between that. My lips are in the center, between my nose and the bottom of my face. I'm not really smiling, but the corners of my lips curve up just a little bit. My lips are a pale, light, pink. Put a couple light dashes on my lips because they're a little chapped. The bottom of my lips curve very slightly. The top of my lips curve up and come back slightly; go up again and come back down. Make the curves round.

My eyes are a little farther down than in between my nose and the top of my head. They are almond-shaped, not round or wide, but not narrow. My eyes are green with a little bit of blue and brown in them. So, they're sort of hazel. I have eye lids with long, fine eyelashes. I have lots of eyelashes. I have fine, brown eyebrows. They are not bushy or thin.

Start the top of my neck lined up with my lips. What I mean is, the part of my neck that starts at my head, starts in line with my lips. It slants in slightly, then comes back out.

My shirt is light green. There's a curved line on my shirt, sort of like a collar.

My hair is straight. It's very fine, and goes a little farther down than my shoulders. It's pretty thin. I don't have bangs. My hair is wavy at the top. Then it flows down. It isn't wavy, it's straight, but it sort of curves. A little bit of my ear is sticking out of my hair. The top of my ear is parallel with the bottom of my eye and the bottom is parallel with the top of my nose.

This will be a challenge to draw me, but I hope you have a fun time drawing me!

 Reflections:

I think you did a very good job. The only thing you did wrong was I said I had eyelashes and you didn't put them in. Also, I didn't say that I had rosy cheeks.

I forgot that when I said my neck was lined up with my lips, I meant horizontally, not vertically.

The green you used for the shirt is too light. I should have said it was darker. I should have said my hair covered up most of my ears. You did the skin color fine on my face, but not on my neck. You got the eyeballs a little off centered, but, that's O.K. The color of the eye was perfect. Overall, you did a great job.
