My Self Portrait |
Patrick's re-creation of my self portrait |
My description of my self portrait: 1. Draw in pencil a large oval head facing longest from top to bottom that is 7 and 1/2 inches in length and four and a quarter inches in width. Put the oval in the center of your paper. Color me white with a light tan. 2. Draw a neck that is connected to the head that is 3 inches in both length and width. Color me the same as my head. 3. Draw two oval eye, two and one half inches down from the top of the head and half inch in from each side. The eyes are facing longest from left to right, 1 inch across and half inch tall. Color me dark brown with black centers, but blue at birth. 4. Draw two ears, one on each side of the head, starting 3 and one quarter inches up from the bottom of the head. The ears are 2 inches tall and stick out 1 inch from the head. Color me a tan color. 5. Draw two eyebrows, each one quarter inch thick, running above the eyes. The eyebrows should be space one quarter inch above the eyes. They should run one and a half inches in length, centered above the eye. Color me very dark brown. 6. Draw a nose starting between the eyes and dropping one and a half inches. The nose should be one fourth inch thick at the top, flaring out at the bottom into two nostrils which, when combined, are three-fourths inches across. Color me the same white with tan as my face. 7. Draw a mouth one inch below the nose. It is two inches wide and half an inch high, split horizontally down the middle to form the two lips. It is a light reddish pink color. 8. Draw dark brownish-black hair. It is straight without any curls. The bangs come down from the top of the head by one and a half inches, stopping about a half inch above the eyebrows. The hair should form a rainbow shape across the forehead. |
Reflections: I was more specific in measurement, but I see a resemblance. The skin color is wrong, but everything else is pretty good. The color of the mouth is different and so are the eyes, ears, and nose. I could have said I'm a boy. I could have said to use 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper and use "measurement." |
